Please understand that you should use the steps below at your own risk. When completed, your Users placed in the organizational unit, will send e-mail through our gateway while all others will continue to use the Google servers.
Please be sure to test outbound, inbound and inter-domain e-mail for all your sub-organizations after you complete the instructions .
Create an Organizational unit called "Encrypted Users". Move your test user accounts (accounts that you wish to enable encryption for) to this Organization unit.
Sign in to your Google Apps administrator control panel.- Click Settings.
- In the left-navigation menu, click Email to open the Email settings page.
- Click hosts, on the top menu and then click on the “add route” button.
- A popup box will appear. In the name field type Encryption Host. In the host field type in mta-3.emmta.netand in the port field type in 25. Then, click the “save” button
- Next, click on the General Settings on the top menu.
- In the Organizations section near the top of the page, highlight "Encrypted Users"
- Scroll down to the Sending routing section, then move your mouse to the right so that the Edit button appears, then select the edit button.
- Under Email messages to affect, check the Outbound box. ( Uncheck the Internal – sending box. This would only be of value if you had multiple domains names with in Google apps and wanted to encrypt email between the two domains)
- Click Change route.
- Select the Encrypted Email route from the drop-down list.
- When you are finished making changes, click Add setting or Save to close the dialog box.
Note: Any settings you add will be highlighted on the Email settings page. - Click Save changes at the bottom of the Email settings page.
